NYX Be Free Makeup Palette

I'd been abandone this post for a whole month! I just don't know what to write and how to write this palette's review. Thank you God I can finally finish this. I got this palette from my besties in my graduation day (Yes!! Finally I finished my school XD) along with so many bouquets. Because the flower was wilted a long time ago, now I’m just gonna review this make up palette :p

The cardboard box looks so fancy with a model in turquoise dress. On the back of the cardboard there’s a table consists of what’s inside the box and ingredients. Inside the cardboard, there it is, an elegant sleek black box covered with Styrofoam to keep the box from scratches. 

Nyx Be Free make up palette consists of a mirror, 25 eye shadows, 3 blushes, 5 lipgloss’ and three applicators. The first compartment consists with eye shadow palette and the rest placed on the second compartment. This palette will be perfect for someone with warm undertone although it also matches well with neutral or cool undertone.

Eye Shadow:

This palette has 25 eye shadow colors from light to dark, shimmer and matte. Let’s check the swatches:

The eye shadows' screaming for spring although you certainly can rock the colors all along the year. Over all, most of the eye shadows are pigmented, buildable and blend-able. But the taupe and brown shade has two similar colors and some are almost identical. The eye shadows lasts on my oily lids for about 3 hours and after that the colors are gradually faded, you certainly wanna put some eye primer before. I have no difficulties on applying the darker colors because it’s quite pigmented, so you will need a lighter hand to apply them.

Blush on:

the palette is provided you with three blushes. 

The blushes are simply wonderful! There are a shimmery light pink, a coral salmon shade and a matte pink. The colors are pigmented and easy to blend. I’m quite surprised that the pink shades match my skintone because I’m usually using a coral or peachy shade. The bad thing that they are so powdery and the powder contaminate the lip glosses below the blushes.

Lip gloss:

As you can see before, this palette has 5 shades of lip gloss. As you know lip gloss has a sheer color so the color won’t be as bold as lipstick. I’m quite disappointed with the lip gloss because it feels so sticky! Although the color doesn’t make my lips chapped I still preferred a non-sticky lip gloss.

With so many eye shadow color and lip gloss, there are a lot of look you can try using this palette. Me and my friends, Melga and Anggi, are trying to give you some looks using this palette.

That’s it, overall I love this palette. But let’s see the pros and cons below:

Pros:

Most of the eye shadows are pigmented and blend able

Loves the shade of the blush and lip gloss

Cons:

It has some identical colors

Not travel friendly

Impossible to touch up

 Powdery

Revlon Colorstay Crème Gel Eye Liner

The important make up that I’m always used is eyeliner. I literally use eyeliner to everywhere because eyeliner gives my eyes more definition, especially because I’m using glasses. I prefer using a liquid or gel liner because they have longest staying powder than crayon or pencil liner. Some people have no problem using pencil liner, but since I have hooded and super oily eyelids the pencil liner will smudge and it is a total mess.

The first gel liner that I have is this Revlon Colorstay Crème Gel Eye Liner. It comes with four shades: Black; Charcoal; Brown and Plum. I have two shades of this gel liner, Black and Charcoal. I picked Charcoal instead of brown simply because I’ve never had any eyeliner with gray shade. The texture of the gel is creamy so it’s easier to applied, especially for a newbie like me. The price is also affordable, about IDR 75.000 and easy to find.

Maybelline Moisture Extreme Lipcolor: Coral Pink, Cosy Tangerine & Brick Rose

Hi again!

This time I want to review about my all-time favorite lipstick from Maybelline in three different colors. I’m using these lipsticks in so many occasions from daily to formal occasion. Maybelline lipstick cost’s is inexpensive and has so many shades and color range. I pick these three colors that match my yellow skin tone and warm undertone: Coral Pink, Cosy Tangerine and Brick Rose

Schwarzkopf Freshlight Foam Color in Melty Cherry

I dyed my hair with Schwarzkopf Freshlight in Melty Mocha about 2 months ago and I’m quite bored with the color. At first I feel hesitate about the color I’m about to use, whether a darker color or a lighter color. But when I visit Borma store around my house to buy my daily needs, I found Schwarzkopf Fresh light in Ash and Freshlight Foam Color in Melty Cherry so it motivated me to re-dye my hair. I'm always wanted to dye my hair with the Clear Ash color but I’m afraid it will not match my skin tone. At last I picked Foam Color in Melty Cherry, pay the bill and dye my hair right away. So here is the appearance of this hair color:

Hello girls!

It’s been a long time (again) since the last post. I was really busy with my thesis and thank you God finally I can have my degree by the end of the July. It was a very hectic and exhausting days, but look at me now! A jobless girl… welcome to the real world Ilma :D

By the way, although a little bit late, it is summer ladies!!

It means to add more colors to your makeup. Well, even though this is not really necessary it is good for me (or you) who is bored with those neutral or ‘no makeup’ make up. Let’s cheer the summer with some pop up colors!

HG Eyeliner: Hyper Glossy Liquid Liner & Studio Liquid Liner

Hello ladies, this time my post will be about my recent favorite eyeliners.

For me, applying eyeliner to my upper eyes is a must. I can go out without foundation, blush or lipstick but no without eyeliner. It gives my eyes more definition and makes me feel beautiful. I like a bold line because it makes my eyes more sharp and pop that’s why I prefer liquid liner instead of pencil and gel. I only use pencil or gel liner if I’m in a rush, usually in the morning or when I am late for school or appointment. I can’t go out without eyeliner because I’m using glasses for my daily activities and the glasses makes my eyes look smaller and dull.

Hi, guys!

I know it’s been a long time since my last post. I’m busy doing my skripsi and my painting hobby, since I’m a beginner blogger it’s quite hard for me to do things in a same time. Yes, I’m not a multitasker because I can concentrate in only one thing.

Even though I’m not a professional or even a good artist, drawing has become my hobby since I’m in a kindergarten. It’s inspired by Disney princesses, Sailor Moon and Wedding Peach, old animes I watched in TV when I was a kid. Yes, I love to draw girls in pretty dresses or gowns. So basically, I love drawing girl and woman using only pencil and paper. I enjoy drawing female because I think girl or woman is beautiful.

Maybelline Color Sensational in Peachy Scene

As I promised you on the previous post, now I will review Maybelline Color Sensational lipstick. The day I purchased the lipstick, I actually looking for a pinky-orange shade lipstick because I thought it would be perfect for summer (Yes, we’re reaching summer now although it’s raining hard almost everyday in Bandung -_-;). In the tester section I found that orange shade lipstick and I’m quite in love with that color because it looks so energetic yet natural BUT the sales assistant said it is out of stock! GAAAH! Disappointingly, I search another color and after several minutes I found this lipstick, it ease my disappointment of not getting the orange lip color. So now we jump to the review~

Perfect Place for the Carnivore

A couple of days ago me and one of my besties, Mbak Anggi, went for hang out for a fresh air. Even though we were doing nothing at home, it sucks and boring. It was about 1 o’clock in the afternoon and we were looking for lunch before heading to BIP or Bandung Indah Plaza to watch movies. You were living or often to visit must have known this Mall. We’re always curious of Bandung culinary because it has so much variety to try. Since we share the same hobby, to eat, we are having a hard time to get and ideal weight T_T 
 

Finally we decided to have lunch in Karnivor restaurant located not too far from the Mall. After we arrived at the Karnivor we were sitting on the smoking area. Surprisingly, the place is quite full on the weekdays. 

Makeup Tips: From Formal to Casual

This time, dear reader, I'm gonna share my makeup tips for formal and casual event. I found this tips when I have to attend two different events at the same day and at the very close time. You guys must have known some beauty guru on Youtube made tutorials for two different occasion, they usually emphasize the eye makeup, but ain’t anybody got time for that!

 If you have a casual to formal event it might be okay because usually a casual makeup is more light and you just have to added some colors to your eyes for the formal event. But, if you have a formal to casual event it will took so many times to remove you eyeshadow and you will also ruined the eyeliner and the fake lashes you may have used.

As you may know a good canvas will provide you a nice, long lasting makeup. ‘Canvas’ here means a good base formed with makeup base, foundation and concealer. A good foundation usually the one which will cover your uneven skintone, acnes scar and has a long staying powder. Freshlight in Melty Mocha

Last weekend I dyed my hair with Schwarzkopf Freshlight in Melty Mocha. The reason why I grabbed this color because I want the color result will not too bright. At first I wanted to pick the Ash color but the sales assistant said it is out of stock. At that time, the product is off 40% (from IDR 99.000 to IDR 65.000) and you can dye your hair with the purchased product for free! So, after I paid the product I rushed to the Schwarzkopf booth. The booth was small that can serve for one person only, but there’s no queue so I was served immediately. Yaaay! At first I’m not sure I’ll do it on the booth because, geez,  it’s in the middle of the store and everybody will look strangely at me. But since I never dye my hair by myself and afraid of damaging it so I’ll just leave my hair to the professional.

Revlon Photo Ready Concealer Review

Every woman has a dream of a flawless skin but sadly, not everybody blessed with a perfect skin.  Thank goodness somebody has invented this amazing tool named concealer.

As you may know, concealer covered my imperfection that foundation cannot cover like pimples, redness, acne scar or under eye circles. I realized I don’t have a perfect flawless skin so I have to find my way to cover my ‘fun stuffs’. I searched and blog-walking to find a drugstore concealer that has many ranges of shades. There it is! I finally choose Revlon Photo Ready Concealer as my first concealer.

Suis Butcher

Everybody in Bandung will certainly know about this famous steakhouse in Bandung. Yup, it's Suis Butcher. 

A couple of days ago, me and my boyfriend were celebrating our anniversary and decided to celebrate that moment in a restaurant that served a real steak. That day was rainy and since we arrived much earlier (it's 5 PM and we are supposed to eat dinner) so we ordered some coffee first. Both of us ordered cappuccino. 

We were placed in a non smoking room (and somehow I regret it because they have a nice place outside). But the rooms is comfy enough with the sofa and dim light. It looks bright on the photo because if I captured the room as it is, it will be so dark.

So, at last I have my own blog!

I'm interested in writing since I was in Junior High School. Back there I wrote my diary, some horror and drama novella, some are finish and some are abandoned without I finished it. In Senior High School I started to leave my hobby because of some reasons. A couple years ago I interested in makeup and started to blog-walking, mostly to read reviews about products I will purchase. But then, I read not only about makeup but also about the personal life of the blogger. It reminds me about how I used to write my diary and remind me of how I enjoy writing back then when I was in Junior High School. So here I am writing in this blog, try to recall my pleasure of my former hobby. 

 This blog will mainly talk about my life including my thought, book, movie. food that recently I taste and of course about makeup. Everything will be reviewed from the point of view of the amateur. Although I'm doing this blog for my own pleasure and with my bad English, I hope this blog can be useful for you and enjoy reading!
