Hi, guys!
I know it’s
been a long time since my last post. I’m busy doing my skripsi and my painting
hobby, since I’m a beginner blogger it’s quite hard for me to do things in a
same time. Yes, I’m not a multitasker because I can concentrate in only one
thing.
Even though
I’m not a professional or even a good artist, drawing has become my hobby since
I’m in a kindergarten. It’s inspired by Disney princesses, Sailor Moon and
Wedding Peach, old animes I watched in TV when I was a kid. Yes, I love to draw
girls in pretty dresses or gowns. So basically, I love drawing girl and woman using
only pencil and paper. I enjoy drawing female because I think girl or woman is
beautiful.
I enjoy drawing their hair, their curvy body or their clothes. Maybe it’s because my drawing represents what I wanted to be. Here’s my drawing using pencil. No, I’m not showing off because I consider my drawing is not perfect , but my blog will be so boring without pictures.

I’ve been learning
about oil painting about a month ago. It began when I realized that I’ve got
nothing to do except doing my skripsi and of course writing this beauty blog
(although it’s not always about beauty). My friends using their spare time to
sewing, teaching, cooking or anything that becomes their hobby. I am interested
in learning oil painting because I haven’t tried it before, so why just don’t
give it a try?
For the
first time, I learn it from a book I purchased at Gunung Agung in BIP (Bandung
Indah Plaza) for about Rp 50.000. Gunung Agung store seriously provide anything
you need to do oil painting. So here what I’m using for my first oil painting.
The canvas
price is about Rp 22.500 and the oil is about Rp 60.000 for 75ml. I didn’t purchase
the palette knife and charcoal pencil because I thought I could replace it with something else. The
oil painting is from Lefranc & Borgeous, it has many kinds of oil
painting but I only purchased the medium mixing oil. The painting color
is from Marie's, luckily my uncle sent it for a gift but I never had a
chance to use it, so I don't have to buy a new one. The other is a guide
book of oil painting Panduan Melukis dengan Cat Minyak by Philip
Berrill and Cara Mudah Menggambar dengan Pensil by Veri Priyatna, SSn.
Anyway, I begin with sketching at the
paper first and I transferred it to the canvas after I know what to draw.

Actually I
a bit disappointed in using a purple color as a background, I use this color
because I thought purple is a complementary color for the yellow I’m using for
the lilies so the yellow color will pop. But the picture now is like have a
mysterious image that contrast with my expectation because I wanted the picture
to have a pure and innocent image as what lily represents.
Next, I
will try to paint a still life painting to learn about dimension and more
shading. That’s it, I hope this post inspire you to try oil painting. Thank you for reading :)
